Vanilla Extract Production
The three varieties of premium quality vanilla extract that Natural Vanilla produce are traditional style which uses alcohol as the preservative, a certified Halal alcohol free style where all natural palm free glycerine is used as the preservative in place of alcohol and a sugar free keto style.
Natural Vanilla Store also produces a limited distribution Madagascan vanilla extract made using organic certified vanilla pods to our own proprietary recipe using infused fresh Madagascan origin vanilla pods and all natural ingredients.
Our vanilla extract is made using all natural ingredients with no preservatives, no colouring agents and no restricted substances. Our traditional style uses a only 15% alcohol as the 35% alcohol used by other manufactures tends to overpower the vanilla taste.
Halal Vanilla Extract
Our Vanilla Extract Halal Certified is a non-alcohol variety made using all natural ingredients with no preservatives and no colouring agents from 100g/L of pressed fresh vanilla pods. A natural vegetable glycerine is used as the preservative in place of alcohol.
Vanilla Extract Uses
In true fine dining and gourmet cooking, the use of real vanilla can be recognized by the exquisite aroma and flavour imparted into the food as proof that genuine vanilla has been used in the preparation of the dish.
Many of our long-term commercial customers appreciate our vanilla products flavour and aroma, which we produced from our own proprietary recipe using organically grown fresh vanilla pods. Customers have been using our extract in large quantities for the preparation of beverages such as pressed fruit juice blends, baked goods such as cookies and cakes, and for desserts such as Panna Cotta, Vanilla Custard, Creme Brule, Cream Caramel, and Cheesecake.
Food products that are cooked will evaporate out the alcohol; however, for food that does not require cooking, such as ice cream and yoghurt, it is suggested that the non-alcohol extract is used.
Quality Assurance
Many food products containing our vanilla have been produced by our commercial customers around the world. Our commercial customers require assurance that we meet standards of food safety and that our extract is free from harmful substances and organisms and meets international regulatory food requirements. For this reason, our quality assurance requires that our Food Safety Program, Product Specifications, and Microbiology Certificate of Analysis are all maintained to international standards.
Ethically Sourced and Organically Cultivated
The organically grown fair trade vanilla pods used for producing our vanilla products have been sourced ethically with good market rates paid to the growers. They have also been cultivated organically without the use of chemicals or artificial fertilizers. Although the vanilla pods used for producing our extract are not officially certified organic, the vanilla pods have been cultivated using organic methods. The rich soils in the vanilla growing regions require no artificial fertilizers, and as vanilla orchids have a high level of natural resistance to pests and diseases, no chemical sprays are used.
